MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar flare activity is very low. There were only 4 low level B-class events in the past 24 hours. Two were produced by target region NOAA 1220 before it rotated over the west limb. The other two B-class events were produced by new target region NOAA 1218. 1218 is currently spotless but is the brightest H-alpha plage on the visible disk. Solar flare activity is expected to continue at a very low level with no change expected anytime soon.

The position of NOAA 1218 on May 25 at 10:30 UT is: S16W20 (Solar X = 312", Solar Y = -239")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
