MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The largest x-ray event in the past 24 hours was an isolated M6.9 at 12/18/21:58 UT produced by NOAA 2241 (S09W06). Target region, NOAA 2242 was the source of several C-class events and an M1.3 event at 12/19/09:44 UT. Both regions remain large and magnetically complex with E-type/beta-gamma-delta sunspot groups and 2242 has bright dynamic H-alpha plage. Both regions have the potential to produce a major flare. We will continue to stay with target region 2242 for at least the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 2242 on December 19 at 16:30 UT is: S18W26 (Solar X = 408", Solar Y = -280")
