Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity is at low levels. There are two large filaments visible on the solar disk for several days. The target region NOAA 12317 was the source of a C1.7 event at 06:51 UT on April 3, the largest event since the last message. NOAA 12317 increased in spot area and number of spots with retaining its D-type/beta classification. 12317 is showing some flux emergence in both the leading and trailing portions. It has the potential to produce low C-class activity in the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 12317 on April 3 at 11:35 UT is:
N09W52 (Solar X = 748", Solar Y = 215")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
