Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has returned to a moderate level in the last 24 hours. The largest event since the last message was an M1.4 flare at 11:40 UT today from the target region, which was now numbered as NOAA 13576. This region was classified as a beta/D-type configuration. It was still the most productive and became more active, with a high and increasing current helicity. Today the target shall remain with NOAA 13576. Further C-class activities are expected, with a good chance of another low-M flare in the following 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13576 on 4-Feb-2024 at 12:30 UT is: S17E75 (-899", -257") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
