Subject: Pointing for Max Millenium #6, 20-Mar-00

Dear Colleagues,

The target for Max Millenium Campaign #6 on 20-Mar-00 will be changed to AR 8910. The co-ordinates are as follows.

Target AR 8910 on 20-Mar-00 at Yohkoh Pass 4 08:10 UT

 Heliographic Coordinates : N 10.8 W 28.2  SoHO X-Y : (x,y) = (447", 281")

Yohkoh SXT will track the brightest pixel in the AR, with a (5.'2 x 5.'2) field of view. We will be doing dark calibration in the full-disk sequence, so will not get much information outside the region. We will operate this way between 20-Mar-00 08:10 UT and 21-Mar-00 06:35 UT.

The last SXT image available at the moment comes from 18-Mar-00 09:33:36 UT, in which AR 8913 is quite bright. However, later EIT images indicate that the two latest M-class flares occurred in AR 8913 (18-Mar-00 23:20 UT and 19-Mar-00 17:00 UT) with possible interference with AR 8906. This and the CDS plan are the reasons for our target selection.

Best wishes
