To MM#07 ? JOP 104 participants,

We are about to start the flare campaign!

The SUMER slit is now above the east limb and everything is set up to observe the active Sun. During a test run last night, we were lucky and caught the M1 flare at 06:12 erupting from the AR coming aroung the ESE limb. Let's take this as a good omen. Note, that this target has also been selected by JOP 126 participants, thus making it compatible with the TRACE calendar.

SUMER pointing from Sep 14, 21:00 to Sep 15, 21:00 will be x=-980 / y=-110 (SOHO co-ordinates), approximately S09 E90 (heliocentric).

More will follow,

Werner
