Subject: MM#07 / JOP 104 Pointing for September 28, 2000

To MM#07 / JOP 104 participants,

We had some more activity with high-velocity events (more than 200 km/s) in our FOV. There was a C8 flare in the SUMER FOV on 26 September 2000 around 19:50 UT. Fe XIX 1118 A was by far the brightest line at that time. A small CME in the SE was seen by EIT and LASCO on 27 September after 09:00 UT. The real-time telemetry was not very complete last night, so I have not seen all the SUMER data yet.

The present position of the slit continues to be the best choice on the east limb.

So the SUMER pointing until September 28, 21:00 UT will be as before:

x = -980", y = -250" (slit from -100" to -400") (SOHO co-ordinates) S 14 deg, E 90 deg (heliographic at limb)

With best regards,

Klaus
