To MM#07 / JOP 104 participants,

Last night saw much activity from the target region. SUMER spectra showed high velocity red and blue shifts from the region above the flare at 10:16 today. There was a bright flame shaped structure in the YOHKOH image at 10:34 in the same position.

The present position of the slit continues to be the best choice on the east limb. There does not seem to be anything just yet in the north. So we will keep the SUMER pointing until September 30, 21:00 UT as before:

x = -980", y = -250" (slit from -100" to -400") (SOHO co-ordinates) S 14 deg, E 90 deg (heliographic at limb)

cheers
