Subject: MEOC Campaign Target

To MEOC participants,

AR9231 is a winner! Simon Plunkett's halo CME message confirms that a flare with an EIT wave began at or before 00:12 UT today (16 November and that it was associated with a CME. It will remain the target for limited field instruments for 17 November and probably for several more days.

The heliographic co-ordinates for 17 Nov. 2000 at 00:00 UT are: S23 E30 X=-441" Y=-414"

The main part of the flare was associated with the eruption of the filament on the northwest side of the active region. The EIT wave effects are most conspicuous to the west and north of the active region. A new filament has formed in the channel of the erupted filament.

Anticipating more action,

Sara Martin, Bill Marquette, Peter Gallagher
