Dear HESSI collaborators,
NOAA 9433 has continued to decay over the past 24-hours, now having a beta-gamma classification. The group has also shown a sharp decline in activity and is expected to continue thus.
We have therefore decided to switch the default target to NOAA 9445, which has recently rotated onto the disk and which is developing rapidly. The region also has a complex cluster of spots both in its leader and trailer portions, which could result in C- and M-class events.
The position of NOAA 9445 on 30-apr-2001 15:00 UT is:
N24 E52, ( solar_x = -685", solar_y = 425" )
Regards,
Peter Gallagher and Bill Marquette. BBSO/NJIT.
