Dear HESSI collaborators,

Although NOAA 9463 is not showing significant evolution, it will remain the default and MM#003 targets for today (24-may-2001). Several small spots close to the leader have merged over the past 12 hours and are now disturbing the penumbra of the already asymmetric leader. This, in addition to some minor flux emergence nearby, could result in low-level activity.

It should also be noted that NOAA 9468 has developed rapidly over the past 24-hours and is expected to be the target for 25th and 26th.

The position of NOAA 9463 on 24-may-2001 14:00 UT is:

N07 W04, ( solar_x = 65", solar_y = 140" )

Regards,

Peter Gallagher, BBSO/NJIT.
