Subject: MM#009 HESSI Default Target

Dear HESSI Collaborators,

NOAA 9607 (S16E18) grew significantly since the last message and has developed a delta configuration - magnetic class is beta-gamma-delta. NOAA 9608 located adjacent to 9607 at S26E35 remains very large and magnetically complex with a beta-gamma magnetic classification. Both 9607 and 9608 are capable of M-class events. A major flare is possible if growth remains strong. The MM009 target will switch from NOAA 9601 to 9607/9608 (if FOV allows, image both regions). 9601 has continued in decay phase.

The position of NOAA 9607 on September 8 at 18:00 UT: S16E18 (Solar_X = -282", Solar_Y = -370") The position of NOAA 9608 on September 8 at 18:00 UT: S26E35 (Solar_X = -491", Solar_Y = -502")

See www.bbso.njit.edu/arm for further details.
