Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear HESSI Collaborators,

Internet problems at BBSO for most of the day today (January 26) prevented sending the MOTD at the usual time. Several regions appear to have the potential to produce C-class events with the chance of an isolated M-class event. The regions are: Beta-gamma-delta NOAA 9799 (S23E15), Beta region, 9800 (N07E49), and NOAA 9802 (S14E70). 9802 is too close to the SE limb to ascertain its magnetic configuration, but it has irregular shaped sunspots and may be magnetically complex. 9802 produced an M1 event today at 20:05 UT. Target region 9787 (S09W35) is mostly unchanged and continues to be quiet. We will switch to 9802 today at this time.

The position of NOAA 9802 on January 26 at 24:00 UT: S14E70

See www.bbso.njit.edu/arm/latest for further details.
