Dear HESSI collaborators,

NOAA 9830 continues to decay in size and complexity. The The main leader spot has now fragmented to a number of smaller spots in an almost linear configuration, while the secondary cluster to the north or the region now shows a less well defined neutral line across its delta. The region produced an M4.4 at 00:10 UT today and is expected to produce further C- and M-class events with a small chance for an X.

The position of NOAA 9830 on 22-Feb-2002 14:00 UT is:

S19W30, ( 460", -216" )

See www.bbso.njit.edu/arm/latest/9830.html for further details.

Peter Gallagher, Emergent IT/NASA GSFC.
