Subject: Major Flare Watch

Dear RHESSI collaborators,

NOAA 0039, S15W03, continues to be very quiescent despite the strong delta configuration located within the northern portion of the large leading penumbra. A second delta configuration is located within the trailing portion of 0039. NOAA 0044 (S22W08) has entered decay phase after its very flare productive recent past. Further C- and M-class events expected. There remains a chance of another major flare especially if 0039 continues to maintain its complex magnetic configuration. The MM003 target will continue to be the 0039/0044 complex with the primary target being 0039.

The position of NOAA 0039 on July 28 at 19:00 UT: S15W03 (Solar X = 047", Solar Y = -332") The position of NOAA 0044 on July 28 at 19:00 UT: S22W08 (Solar X = 122", Solar Y = -437")
