Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 14:48:56 +0000

Dear RHESSI collaborators,

There are now a trio of active regions (NOAA 0484, 0486 and 0488) on the solar disk capable of producing major flares. Active region NOAA 0486 has been relatively quiet since the large X17 flare yesterday, but still harbours several pronounced deltas. Further C and M class events expected, with a good chance for another X-class flare.

The position of NOAA 0486 on 28-Oct-2003 14:30 UT is:

S17W05, ( 80", -357" )

See http://beauty.nascom.nasa.gov/arm/latest/0486.html for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
