NOAA 0551 is a small beta region with some polarity mixing in its leading portion, and has produced several C-class flares over the past 24 hours. Further C events expected, with a small chance for an M-class flare.

The position of NOAA 0551 on 04-Feb-2004 10:30 UT is:

S05E45, ( -688", -10" )

See http://beauty.nascom.nasa.gov/arm/latest/0551.html for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
