Dear RHESSI collaborators,

Two regions on the solar disk (NOAA 0649 and 0646) have produced numerous C- and M-class flares over the past 48 hours. Further low- to intermediate- level events expected from both regions, with a good chance for an X-class flare.

Active region NOAA 0649 has recently rotated over the SE limb, and may be the return of NOAA 0635. The rapidly developing region NOAA 0646 has grown considerably over the last two days, with a strong neutral line in its following portion.

The position of NOAA 0646 on 13-July-2004 10:00 UT is:

N1655W, ( 745", 222" )

See http://beauty.nascom.nasa.gov/arm/latest/0646.html for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
