Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

NOAA 0898 was the source of the C1.4 event at 07/04/20:39 UT and the C1.2 event at 07/05/08:58 UT. The large negative polarity leader sunspot has rotated counterclockwise and elongated over the past several days. Another C-class event is possible. A new (recently emerged) region rotated over the SE limb late yesterday. This region was the source of 3 B-class events. It appears to be a D-type sunspot group in growth phase with a beta magnetic configuration. Its current location is S05E76. This region could also produce a C-class event.

The position of NOAA 0898 on July 05 at 12:00 UT: S07W21 (Solar X = 337", Solar Y = -166")

See http://www.solarmonitor.org/ for images and additional information and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
