Dear RHESSI collaborators,

Active region NOAA 10917, associated with a nearby filament channel in EUV images and a filament in H-alpha, has experienced some flux emergence over the past few days. This small bipolar region now contains some bright loop structure with a good chance for some low-level activity and a possibility of producing B-class events,

The position of NOAA 10917 on 20-Oct-2006 14:00UT is:

S05W12, ( 200", -173" )

See http://www.solarmonitor.org/ for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
