Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 12:46:05 -0500 (EST)

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The return of old NOAA 0930 is now visible on the SE limb. There are two separate plages on the limb with leader sunspots. The largest sunspot is located at about S07 and the other spot is a few degrees north and east. The background X-ray flux has increased from below the A-class level a few days ago to its current A6 level. The two regions are too close to the east limb to ascertain their magnetic configuration but solar activity is expected to increase due to the return of this active solar longitude.

The approximate position of the target on December 30 at 16:00 UT: S05E88 (Solar X = -972", Solar Y = -083")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
