Solar activity has begun to increase over the past 12 hours due to the appearance of a new active region on the eastern limb. Further low-level activity expected with possibility for an isolated intermediate level event.

The approximate position of the active region on 5-Dec-2007 14:00 UT is:

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
