Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The new active region on the eastern limb has been the source of two C-class flares while still partially occulted. It appears to comprise an extensive loop system but its magnetic configuration is uncertain at this time. Further intermediate level activity expected with possibility of an M-class.

The approximate position of the active region on 31-Dec-2007 09:00 UT is:

S11E89, ( -958", -185" )

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
