MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Target region, NOAA 1108, was the source of an isolated C1.3 event at 09/17/01:22 UT. 1108 is currently classified as a large F-type sunspot group with a beta magnetic configuration. Old target region, NOAA 1106, has some minor mixed polarity. Both 1108 and 1106 are capable of producing an isolated C-class event. There is a slight chance of an isolated M-class event in the next few days from 1108.

The position of NOAA 1108 on September 17 at 13:30 UT is: S28E61 (Solar X = -738", Solar Y = -496")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
