Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Date: Sun, 12 Feb 2012 09:46:49 -0800

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar activity continues at moderate levels. There have been 8 C-class flares in the past 24 hours, the largest of which was an occulted C9 event. These were all produced by the still-occulted AR on the east limb. Given the magnitude of these events while behind the limb, it is extremely likely that the true magnitudes of the largest flares should be in the M-class division. This occulted source will continue to be today's target and activity levels are expected to remain moderate to high, which the chance of an M flare increasing as the region approaches the limb.

The position of the target of opportunity on 12-Feb-2012 17:30 UT is:

N30 E84, ( -837", 492" )

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
