Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The current level of solar activity is low. NOAA 11893 exhibits flux emergence in its NW and SW portions, resulting in a strong gamma magnetic configuration, but has not produced significant activity, so far. NOAA 1899, while exhibiting a simple magnetic configuration, contains a large leading spot and was responsible for a series of C-class flares. Meanwhile, yesterday's target region (NOAA 11897) was responsible for fewer C-class events, but of higher magnitudes; the largest event since the previous message was a C5.9 flare on 13-Nov-2013 at 20:42 UT. The target region exhibits a newly emerged mixed polarity spot at its eastern boundary, which may be the cause of the region's continued activity. Further C-class activity is expected with a chance for an M-class event.

The position of NOAA 11897 on 14-Nov-2013 at 18:20 UT is: S21E27, ( -413", -389" )
