Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch" -

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar activity is at a low level. NOAA region 11967 has maintained its number of spots over the past 24 hours, but decreased in spot area as it rotates towards the South West limb (possibly due to foreshortening effects). This region remains classified as a beta-gamma-delta/F-type sunspot group, but has continued to decay. 11967 produced the largest flare in the past 24 hours, a C8.6 event on 8-Feb-2014 at 18:25 UT. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue for a final 24 hours, since NOAA 11967 still retains a significantly strong delta spot in its trailing portion.

The position of NOAA 11967 on 8-Feb-2014 at 21:30 UT is:

S13W76, ( 920", -191" )

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
