MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar flare activity is at a very low level. The background x-ray flux is currently steady at the B2.7 level. NOAA 2109 produced the largest event since the last message - a C1.2 at 07/15/03:04 UT. The visible solar disk is nearly spotless. The target will continue to be NOAA 2109 now located just beyond the southwestern limb. There is a chance of a B-class event with only a slight chance of another C-class event in the next 24 hour period.

The position of NOAA 2109 on July 15 at 11:30 UT is: S08W91 (Solar X = 934", Solar Y = -129")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
