MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar flare activity is very low. The background x-ray flux is currently at the B1.8 level. The visible solar disk may become spotless today. The last time the solar disk was spotless was in August, 2011. There is only one tiny pore located in NOAA region 2113. NOAA 2109 is now about one day beyond the west limb. The new target region will be NOAA 2113. 2113 is in advanced decay phase but there is an active filament located just north of the region. No significant solar flare activity expected in the next 24 hour period.

The position of NOAA 2113 on July 16 at 11:30 UT is: N08W53 (Solar X = 748", Solar Y = 087")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
