Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target
Date: Thu, 14 Aug 2014 19:36:00 +0100

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar activity continues to be at a low level. NOAA 12139 has not grown in spot area over the past 24 hours, but has increased in number of spots (primarily in its intermediate portion). This region is still classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group and produced the largest flare event since the last message (a B6.3 flare on 14-Aug-2014 at 04:18 UT). A new region emerging in the North East quadrant has also produced B-class flares and recently formed several spots, so this emerging region is the new target. More B-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a chance for a low-to-mid C-class flare.

The approximate position of this region on 14-Aug-2014 at 18:00 UT is:

N15E62, ( -807", 194" )

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
