Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The Major Flare Watch region NOAA 12673 was the source of an X2 flare, which is happening right now (peaking at ~9:10 UT). 12673 also produced a few C-class flares as well as an M2.3 yesterday. It retains its beta-gamma-delta/D-type classification, but still increases in sunspot area and number of sunspots. Its magnetic inversion line is highly sheared. Additional major flares are possible in the next few days.
The position of NOAA 12673 on September 6 at 07:30 UT is:
S09W34 (527", -246")
