Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The Major Flare Watch region NOAA 12673 produced an X9.3 flare at 11:53 UT on September 6, which was associated with an Earth-directed CME. This X-ray event is the largest one in this solar cycle (as of now; also the largest one since 2005). 12673 also produced three low M-class events. It has been classified as a complex E-type/beta-gamma-delta configuration with still increasing sunspot area (960 uh now). We will continue the Major Flare Watch as the region still has the potential to produce additional >M5 flares in the next few days.

The position of NOAA 12673 on September 7 at 07:30 UT is:
S09W49 (711", -226")
