MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
The visible solar disk continues to be spotless and now plageless. The tiny Cycle 24 target region (NOAA 2766) has now completed west limb passage. 2766 was the source of a minor A2.3 event at 07/11/20:51 UT. The target will switch to a filament located in the southwestern quadrant. This filament became active late on July 08 and erupted at 07/08/23:59 UT. Portions of the filament have reappeared. No noteworthy solar flare activity expected anytime soon.
The position of the target on July 12 at 11:30 UT is: S37W55 (Solar X = 619", Solar Y = -599")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
