MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear Collaborators,
At this time we are implementing Max Millennium coordinated observing plan #003 (Region Likely To Produce A Major Flare). A region located beyond the southeastern limb was the source of a limb occulted M4.4 event at 11/29/13:11 UT. The region is located in the vicinity of the return of old NOAA 2781. A well developed system of flare loop-type prominences is currently visible on the southeastern limb. Another M-class event is possible in the next 48 hours.
The approximate position of the target on Nov. 29 at 13:15 UT is: S23E89 (Solar X = -896, Solar Y = -380")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
