Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a low level since the last message. Only two ~B1 flares were produced by NOAA 12791 that has decayed to a plage region. The only region with sunspots on the visible solar disk is NOAA 12790. 12790 remains its alpha/H-type configuration and has been flare quiet since the C7.4 flare. B-class flares are probable with a slight chance of an isolated C-class event in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 12790 on December 9 at 04:30 UT is:
S21W32 (483", -347")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
