Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is high. Target region NOAA 13165 has continued to grow in spot area and magnetic complexity since the last message to now be designated as a beta-delta/E-type sunspot group. This region remains the most flare-productive region with being the source of multiple M-class events, the largest being an M5.7 on 15-Dec-2022 at 22:20 UT. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch continues with NOAA 13165 as its target. Further M-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for more flares >= M5. The position of NOAA 13165 on 16-Dec-2022 at 16:30 UT is: S19W72 , ( 877", -312" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
