NOAA region 11142 has maintained area coverage and a beta magnetic classification despite halving in number of spots. This region remains bright in H-alpha and UV plage emission. B-class activity is probable. The position of NOAA 11142 on 7-Jan-2011 at 10:30 UT is: S14W38, ( 582", -188" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
