NOAA 1226 has continued to decay significantly. It is now classified as an alpha sunspot group but retains moderately bright H-alpha plage with some minor surging. B-class events possible with a C-class event less likely today. The position of NOAA 1226 on June 08 at 15:30 UT is: S21W73 (Solar X = 844", Solar Y = -339") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
