Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target Date: Fri, 12 Aug 2011 07:37:48 -0700 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, With NOAA 11263 rotated completely off the disk, solar activity has dropped significantly. The only flares in the past 24 hours registered as B class but originated from the highly occulted 11263. Today, with most other regions in decay, the target will shift to the newly numbered NOAA 11270 which has recently rotated onto the east limb. The region consists of bipolar sunspots and is bright in EUV and in X-rays. It appears to still be evolving and growing so low to moderate activity may be possible. The position of NOAA 11270 on 12-Aug-2011 10:30 UT is: N23E48 ( -649", 302" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
