MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar flare event activity continues at a low B-class level. Target region, NOAA 1271, is mostly unchanged currently displaying a large E-type/beta sunspot group. There is a new region located mostly beyond the east limb at approximately N16 that was also the source of a B-class event today. B-class events are expected with a chance of a C-class event in the next 24 hour period. There is <10% chance of an isolated M-class event in the next few days.

The position of NOAA 1271 on August 24 at 15:30 UT is: N17W38 (Solar X = 560", Solar Y = 188")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
