It is maintaining its large F-type/beta-gamma sunspot group. Both 1654 and NOAA 1652 (N19W36) were the source of C-class activity in the past 24 hours. Additional C-class events expected with a chance of an isolated M-class event in the next 24 hour period. The position of NOAA 1654 on January 14 at 14:00 UT is: N08W04 (Solar X = 067", Solar Y = 212") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
