The background x-ray flux is currently at the B2.5 level. The target region, NOAA 1673, is only a simple H-type/alpha region but is the brightest plage on the visible disk. No significant solar flare activity expected in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 1673 on February 16 at 14:00 UT is: S11E59 (Solar X = -818", Solar Y = -125") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
