Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target Date: Wed, 23 Dec 2015 17:24:39 +0000 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, Solar activity is at a moderate level. NOAA 12473 continued to grow in spot area over the past 24 hours, displaying a beta-delta/D-type classification before producing the largest flare of the period (an M4.7 on 23-Dec-2015 at 00:23 UT). However, this region may have now lost its delta-spot configuration because of the opposite polarity umbrae no longer having a common penumbra. More C-class activity is expected, with a good chance for another low-to-mid M-class flare. The position of NOAA 12473 on 23-Dec-2015 at 17:00 UT is: S23E53, ( -717", -363" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
