The region's leader sunspot area increased but the trailing spots have decayed somewhat. The region is maintaining its magnetically simple C-type/beta sunspot group. A- and B-class events possible in the next 24 hour period. The position of NOAA 2850 on August 03 at 14:00 UT is: S32W37 (Solar X =484", Solar Y = -567") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
