Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 12960 has been stable and flare-quiet since the last message, remaining classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group. The target switches to NOAA 12962, a beta magnetic active region that developed penumbrae on its spots since the last message. NOAA 12962 had produced multiple low C-class flares before yesterday's message and, although only producing high B-class flares since then, it remains one of the more flare-active of the spotted regions on disk. C-class activity is probable in the following 24-hour period. The position of NOAA 12962 on 7-Mar-2022 at 19:00 UT is: N26E33 , ( -472", 514" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Shaun Bloomfield (Northumbria University) |
