Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 12964 has now rotated over the South West limb, producing a foot-point occulted B8.7 flare on 13-Mar-2022 at 09:54 UT. The only region to produce C-class flares since the last message was spotless NOAA 12962 (the largest being a C4.9 flare on 13-Mar-2022 at 03:12 UT). The target returns to NOAA 12965, which has shown signs of redistribution and flux emergence to now be classified as a beta-gamma/F-type sunspot group. C-class flares are possible in the following 24-hour period. The position of NOAA 12965 on 13-Mar-2022 at 20:00 UT is: N23E11 , ( -173", 485" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Shaun Bloomfield (Northumbria University) |
