Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has been at a low level since the last message. The largest event of the period was a C1.2 at 03/17/01:36 UT produced by the target region NOAA 12965. 12965 also produced several B-class flares. It retains a beta-gamma/F-type configuration but appears to enter the decay phase. Further C-class activities are expected still with a chance of a low M-class flare in the next few days. The position of NOAA 12965 on March 17 at 08:30 UT is: N24W35 (506",480") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
