Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has been at a moderate level since the last message. Six low M-class flares were emergent from NOAA 12975, the largest one being an M4.0 at 03/28/10:58 UT. 12975 has been classified as a beta-gamma/D-type region, significantly increasing in its sunspot area. It continues to emerge new magnetic flux in its leading portion. Today we will watch this region. Yesterday's target NOAA 12978 was designated as a beta/E-type region and only produced two C-class flares during the period. Additional M-class flares are probable and more C-class flares are expected in the following 24 hours. The position of NOAA 12975 on March 29 at 07:30 UT is: N13W16 (259", 320") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
