Dear Collaborators, Solar activity remains at a moderate level since the last message. The target region NOAA 12975 was the source of two ~M1 flares (an M1.0 at 03/29/09:17 UT and an M1.6 at 03/29/21:43 UT) and also numerous C-class flares. Another two regions, NOAA 12978 (S20E54) and 12976 (N14W05), also produced a few C-class flares during this period. 12975 has been classified as a beta-gamma-delta/ D-type region, increasing the sunspot area and number of spots. It continues to emerge new magnetic fluxes in its intermediate portion. Additional low M-class flares remain likely and further C-class activities are expected in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 12975 on March 30 at 03:30 UT is: N13W27 (426", 312") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
