Dear Collaborators,
Dear Collaborators, The active region complex target NOAA regions 2993/2994 were the source of numerous minor C-class events since the last message. The largest was a C3.7 at 04/24/04:12 UT. The flare was within the opposite polarity fields located just north of the large leading sunspot in 2993 (D-type/beta-gamma). This area is now decaying. 2994 has an EFR within its intermediate sunspot group slightly increasing its magnetic complexity. 2994 is now classified as having an E-type/beta-gamma sunspot group. C-class events expected, M-class event possible with a very slight chance of a major flare =>M5 in the next 24 hour period.. The position of NOAA 2993/2994 on April 24 at 14:45 UT is: N17W22 (Solar X = 343", Solar Y = 350") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
